Everything happened so quickly that Sara felt her head spin just a bit. Awoken from Cryo after far too long, given coffee and a basic answer to her inquiries. She felt good overall though, excited. They’d made it! Made it to what exactly they’d soon find out. She caught the wave of a face she somewhat recognized, not enough to put a name to the face but enough to remember that her father recruited him. They were the Pathfinder team.
The pleasant wave was returned with one of her own, her fingers moving rather than her entire hand. She had a smile on as she regarded him. She’d barely spoken to the asari doctor when a noise made her skin crawl, her heart sank. They were pulling Scott from Cryo. What if he woke up to this? He’d think they were under attack and they could be!
Suddenly that tossing about ended up with the entire Cryogenics Bay floating, zero gravity which meant that Sara’s feet were no longer on the ground. Most things weren’t. She swallowed hard and looked around, searching for something somewhere. Liam’s little bout of acrobatics made her giggle just a bit, just a teeny tiny bit! Sara attempted swimming motions to propel herself forward when the gravity returned.
The Ryder daughter hit the ground of the blindingly white room with a thud. “Ouchies.” She muttered as she pushed herself up. “I’m fine,” Sara reassured the doctor as she looked towards her brother’s pod. That’s when they said it. That’s when her world began to fall apart. Scott was stuck, alive, but stuck… She would have no choice but to continue on without her baby brother.
He’d be okay, Sara told herself. He had to be. She was always late anyways, seemed fitting. They had a mission. A mission that the Pathfinding Team had to do with or without Scott.

He was stuck, they said, stuck in stasis. Sara couldn’t believe the words the doctors were saying. She had to of course lest the mission fail because of her occupied mind. Dammit Scott, she thought to herself. A hand was placed upon his pod tenderly perhaps almost lovingly. Sure, Sara didn’t say it a lot but she did love her twin brother. Now she wondered if she might never have the chance to tell him that again…
That’s when a face approached. The same one who waved and smirked at her just a bit ago! He extended a hand and introduced himself. Sara put on her best game face as she took his hand and shook it. “Sara Ryder, pleasure to meet you. Pathfinder team?” She asked with squinting eyes and a smile, knowing he was already.
“Excited for what’s down there?” She was. She was even more excited before Scott decided to be late again! Would it be like everything they dreamed or were told of? Naturally she had questions as to what they’d collided with but she didn’t want to dwell on that right now. Who would?

Crisis Specialist Liam Kosta, she examined him over once and thought it fit him. Why her father needed a Crisis Specialist was beyond her but she wasn’t the Pathfinder, now was she? If Liam was dedicated to the cause—and would listen to Old Man Ryder—then Sara would accept him no matter what! Though she couldn’t help but wonder what might have had their paths cross.
“I was Alliance like my dad, Recon Specialist.” She said to give some background on herself since he’d done the same. She didn’t mention how she traveled with scientists who were involved with Prothean artifacts and research. “Glad to have you on board. Something tells me with Scott and I around, you’ll be needed between us.” Hey, he was a Crisis Specialist. Two fighting Ryder siblings? A crisis in need of a specialist without a doubt!
The Golden World for humanity… Sara liked to think she’d dreamed of it during her years in Cryo but she couldn’t be sure by any means. He seemed pumped for it and she couldn’t blame him! “I want to set my feet on the ground and rub it in Scott’s face that I was the first human—besides dad—to touch our new world’s soil!”
Just because Scott was stuck in his pod for the moment didn’t mean she wouldn’t find things to brag about when he was up and about! Though seriously, she was more than just excited. Sara felt more energy begin coursing through her longer she thought about it. What would it look like? Had the Nexus already started some sort of effort on their Golden World? She had to know!

He seemed eager and she appreciated the eager vibes he was radiating. She needed it… Her eyes drifted from Liam to the pod Scott had been in. Luckily, he managed to pull her attention back to him, allowing the dread to vanish for a moment or two. Scott would be okay, she needed to believe that. There were things she needed to worry about right now. Unfortunately, those things were not her little brother. They were preparing for something incredible.
“Race you then?” She suggested with her brows raised and a devilish grin. “The quicker we get to my dad the better, right? Hate to be late…” For all Sara knew, they were the last two out of Cryo! They couldn’t be late. And she needed to touch down first, no matter where.

Oh, this man was the perfect choice for the team! She grinned at him and after him when he punched her arm before bolting. Sara erupted in laughter as she quickly followed. Hey, not everything needed to be serious, right? Plus, Scott would want her to not mope around. Well… Maybe not. He no doubt fully expected Sara to be weeping on his cryo pod, screaming to the sky like those dramatic movies with tears rolling down her tanned complexion.
Unfortunately for little brother, she had one Liam Kosta to break her from any drowning thoughts. Neither of them knew where to go. That didn’t mean the people they passed didn’t. Crowds of people pointed forward to the tram. One of the last things she heard before using her biotics to project her over a set of steps was ‘damn kids’. She actually smiled at that instead of finding it insulting.
And sure enough, the tram was their destination where they’d find others slowly filing out of. Sara’s smile didn’t budge as she pressed onwards, aiming to beat Kosta. She almost ran into someone and let out a gasp before sliding between their legs.
“Sorry, man!” She called before kicking back up right and resuming her pace. So close… And yet… There was Liam. “Shit on a stick.”
