What the hell was going on? Liam felt totally out of the loop and it was driving him insane. First it started with residents being sent to medical. Of course Tann, the council... the whole lot of them was assuring just about everyone that there was no need for panic. They weren't even feeding his team information. People looked up to Ryder - she could help calm the residents. Liam would do his damnest to help any resident worried about their current quarantine.
But no - guess where he was? Cooped up in fucking pathfinding HQ. They wanted you to stay there and wait for instructions - while the rest of the Nexus went to shit. When people were scared, they did crazy things. And Liam couldn't just stand by why this shit happened. He was already going stir crazy. So, Liam had a plan. Or the remnants of a plan - but something to focus his nervous energy. It was in times like this that he was the most focused. Escaping pathfinding HQ was not as easy as he would've liked it to be. But it wasn't impossible.
The rest of the teams were working through solutions and plans - but Liam was acting. He needed to get a taste of what was going on. Only then could they have a real chance of helping. Using his omni-tool, he was running decryption on one of the doors, out of the eye-shot of others. Liam was just good at breaking the rules for the greater good (or what he thought was the greater good). After what seemed like forever, the familiar sound of a door opening caused Liam to jump, his body tense for whatever he was going to meet outside Pathfinder HQ - but he was ready. Or at least he thought he was.

This is his seventh rotation into working as security, and to be honest Tristan isn’t sure he’s up for the task anymore, not after these last few days, or weeks? He can’t tell anymore, not with how things have been going, the quiet, the sick, no one is telling him anything and he’s one seat away from being a council member himself! He doesn’t like being kept in the dark, especially when he might be able to do more to help, but no, tight lips, threats of exile if people don’t comply. And to top it all off, now he’s to scan every non-human that happens to be out and about, even though everyone should be in their homes. In charge of a small squad Tristan breaks them off into teams, he’s good enough on his own, but he wants everyone in pairs. Keeping the machine hooked to his belt he checks his raspatory system of his armor before walking out onto the Nexus. It’s a ghost town, like when the Ark Hyperion first arrived, he can’t get used to the quiet, it’s just so alien to him.
The first two hours are quiet, no one is out of their homes, no looters, he also realizes he’s quite close to Pathfinder HQ. In the entire time of this happening he hadn’t heard from Liam, which wasn’t exactly a good thing, given the males’ temperament. He might as well check up on him, even though he knows it would be breaking about a hundred new rules and risking his AND Liam’s exile. As he walks up the steps leading to the door opens and he frowns, his pace quickens as he sees Liam coming out, not in protective gear, not in his armor, and he can’t move fast enough to grab a fistful of his shirt and shove him back into the room, his omni-tool waving at the door as it shuts. ”Are yeh insane?! Do yeh know wha’s goin’ on ou’ tere…yeh kenna leave here wi’out a suit an’ rebreathers!” His voice is a harsh whisper as he also realizes that he can hear voices, the rest of the pathfinding teams have also been kept locked away in their HQ.
Glancing through the HUD of his helmet he gently pushed Liam even further out of sight and sighed heavily, ”I was comin’ ter check on yeh…I didn’a tink tha’ all the pathfinder squads woul’ be here…how’re yeh holdin’ up Kosta?” It might be the way his helmet starts coming apart, retracting in several pieces, or it could be the way his voice hitched a little that showed how worried he might have been. But regardless Tristan doesn’t exactly wait for an answer before leaning in to press a quick kiss against the males lips.

Well, shit. That was unexpected. At first, after the initial shock of the door opening had faded, there was nothing out of the ordinary. The hall looked just as it always did. Then, suddenly, a familiar body appeared in his way. Liam let out a heavy sigh before any words were spoken. His body was already on edge, that fight or flight response kicking in, which caused a bit of resistance as Tristan grabbed his shirt and shoved him back into HQ. Damn, him. Insane? Possibly. Being cooped up was something Liam literally dreaded. He felt like a caged animal.
A frown pulled down at the edges of his lips as he shrugged his shoulders. "Yes, of course I do!" Liam whispered back, his voice low but firm. "I need to do something." This is where Liam did his best. In a crisis. Staying in pathfinder HQ was doing nothing more than driving him insane. So insane, he was apparently trying to escape out into this shit without necessary precautions.
Before he was even able to reply, he felt Tristan's lips on his. It was surprising, that's for damn sure, and it made Liam pause. For maybe a second. His mind quickly clicked from the lips against his, no matter how lovely the fit, back to the shit going down. Pulling back only a few moments later, Liam slowly dragged his dark gaze from the male's lips, back up to meet Tristan's cobalt blue gaze. "I'm fine. I just need to get out. I need to help with something. Last I heard, there was looting going on down in the dock markets. It's the last intel I was given after being locked up in here." Liam was calm - focused, but his voice was strained.
It was obvious that the man was in need of a change and there was very little that would stop him. Even the gorgeous, tattooed body in front of him. Once Liam had his mind set, he accomplished it... no matter the costs.

It was kind of painful to know and hear that strain in Liam’s voice, knowing he was just as frustrated at Tristan was, if not even more. At least Tristan had some sort of information that was going around, something he could at least help with in a sense. Liam, he didn’t have anything, and the biotic couldn’t stop the slight drop in his chest as the other male pulled back from their kiss, something he’d been wanting to do since they’d gotten back from their coffee mission. Hearing the words being spoken to him Tristan knew that feeling, he knew how desperate it could feel, the need to do something, anything. He couldn’t take the tone of his voice, the strain that was slowly battering against Tristan’s resolve, he had his orders, he had to patrol the Nexus and scan those who were sick. Not pulling away from Liam he sighed, his eyes closing a moment as he just leaned his body against the front of the other males. Arms rested against the grey material of Liam’s sweater and he sighed, he knew what it was like to not be able to do much in certain situations, it sucked.
”Aye…Oi know wha’ tha’s loi’…Oi know tha’ I’s no’ somtin’ tha’ yeh loi’…jus’ sittin’ down wi’ notin’ ter do…I know tha’ yeh go’ a lo’ o’ questions abou’ wha’s been happenin’…” Leaning back just a little bit the human sighed again, hands moving from the males shoulders to gently grip his arms through his sweater. He could feel the tense muscles beneath the fabric, he knew it had been some time since he’d last been this close to the male. But honestly there’d been no time after their mission together, the entire coffee mission had been something else. Leaning back a little more he stared silently at the males’ face, studying his eyes a moment as he glanced back towards the rest of Pathfinder HQ. He didn’t need the rest of the teams getting super excited, he could probably only pull this off with Liam, and even before he was truly thinking about it he realized he’d made up his mind about what he wanted to do. Reaching a hand out he gently ran it along Liam’s chin before glancing off to the side, towards the general area where the rest of the Pathfinding teams are all talking together.
Leaning in Tristan glances one more time at the other room before pressing his lips close to the males ear, ”I wan’ yeh…ter go an’ ge’ yer armor roi’ now…as quie’ an’ calmly as yeh can…don’a say much to anyone else…an’ come back over here…an’ Oi’m taken yeh wi’ me…don’ wan’ yeh to stay here wi’out me…” It wasn’t a hard thing to exactly demand that Liam go and get his stuff, ”Leave yer heavy weapons….geh go’ anytin’ loi’ bring it….pistol…sub gun…tins loi’ tha…if’n we come across people ou’ of home we aren’ gonna do real damage.” He gently turned the male towards the stairs that led up to the HQ, his gloved hand sliding from his arm to his shoulder before sliding down to settle in the small of his back and gently pushed him forward so that he could go and do that. As serious as the situation was Tristan couldn’t help tilting his head to the side so that he could better view the males backside, clad in semi tight pants. It was hard not to stare, of course it was more than likely because of the adrenaline running through his veins to heighten sexual urges.

Working with Tristan would work a hell of a lot better than going off on his own - but Liam was ready for either case. He just hoped it wouldn't come down to avoiding the capable APEX mastermind out and about. That would make his job even harder. Just the thought caused a rather quiet sigh to escape Liam. It was almost in unison with Tristan's own sigh. Maybe they had similar feelings at the moment? He nodded slowly, "I just need to act. There are people down there and they need help." Less questions, more action. Maybe that should be the man's motto...
The pressure that Tristan applied to his arms was a welcomed distraction from the frustration he was feeling deep inside. Liam watched as the male's gaze shifted from him to the lot behind him. If nothing else, could he just take off and run from here? Damn Tristan's biotics - they would probably stop him. But maybe, just maybe, he could dodge and hide till the man gave up. Ha. Or at least gave pause to the chase and Liam could find his way around.
The plan formulating in Liam's head went quickly up in smoke as he felt Tristan's lips close to another part of his body. His ears. Get your head out of the gutter! The words spoken drove him into action. His eyes widened, a spark of excitement eating away at some of his worry. "Calm?" he repeated, his usual nature shining through for a moment. Liam was in that perpetual loop of 'calm' and 'excited puppy'. There was no sidetracking a focused Liam. Especially in crisis. I mean, that was his job...
Before following along with Tristan's demands, he rose a brow, the first sign of a smile peaking through as the edge of his lips turned up. "You're taking me with you? I was going whether you liked it or not," he added, the smile fully appearing. "I was ready to make a deal with you. Or to just make a run for it," then he shrugged. It was just in his nature. He couldn't help the drive he felt to help people. "I was going to promise you whatever you wanted if you just let me slip through." Literally. Anything to get some action. As in help people... that kind of action.
As Tristan turned him around, he let out a sigh. He was decent at following orders sometimes, but not having control was just a tad frustrating. Or a lot. "I'm going to find a sniper rifle and bring that," Liam spoke as he felt Tristan's hand on the small of his back. With a quiet chuckle, he moved back into the heart of HQ. No one paid him any mind - they were too busy trying to formulate a plan. And apparently Scott had gone missing? A few concerned crew members had only just noticed. He took that opportunity to grab his armor quietly, his pistol already on his person. Liam usually packed pretty lightly, seeing as his favorite weapon was his dual cloaked omni blades and they followed him everywhere.
Disappearing as quietly as Liam Kosta could, back down the stairs he met up with Tristan once more. Without skipping a beat, Liam dropped the garments on the floor and began removing his grey sweatshirt, revealing nothing more than a thin white tank top. His pants were discarded a few seconds later. At least he chose to wear a pair of boxer breifs today? There were a bit bright, and showed off his larger than life personality - something that probably wouldn't surprise Tristan. There was no shame as Liam stood there for a brief moment in his skivvies, more than excited to finally get this show on the road.
Grabbing his grey and blue pants, he practically jumped into them and quickly moved to put on the rest of his armor. Within a minute or two, he was ready - helment in hand. "Let's start with the dock markets. Looting there could get dangerous." SO, let's go! Chop, chop.

Tristan hadn’t needed anymore words from Liam, he knew what he needed to do, if he was a betting man he was already pretty sure that Ryder had somehow already escaped from the HQ and was on his way somewhere within the Nexus for one reason or another. As long as they didn’t run into one another Tristan had no problem letting the male do what he needed, more than likely searching for Zane or someone else as equally important. As he whispered into Liam’s ear it finally seemed to click in the others head that he had a chance to get out of there with him, if he just remained calm. With the word repeated back at him Tristan nodded, ”…calm…aye…” His cobalt eyes glanced off to the side as he made sure no one else had noticed that he’d walked into the HQ, if they did it might be difficult to keep ALL the pathfinder squads from making a break for it. Though to be fair he was more than likely to recruit them all in order to help the people remain calm, maybe stop the looting he’d been hearing reports about, that would be a big help.
It was hard not to snort a little as Liam spoke to him, saying he was going to go whether he liked it or not, though the idea of a promise of whatever he wanted from the other male, that was enticing and he was a little sad he hadn’t remained a little quiet so he could speak. ”…yer lucky Oi kenna wai’ tha’ long…alroi’ brin’ ta gun but don’a plan on usin’ it…people are scared enough as is…” The last thing he needed was a dead civilian, even if they were looting or trying to kill someone else, they had to draw the line somewhere. He wasn’t going to have another uprising on his hands, not as long as he still had his job, as long as he could do something he was going to do his best to prevent that. He watched as the male walked off, looking quite innocent as he moved through the HQ not gaining any attention outside of someone asking him a question, and with his eyes on Cora’s lips he smirked as he read that Scott hadn’t been seen in a while, good thing he hadn’t actually bet with anyone, he’d be collecting a huge reward then.
Cobalt eyes watched from his hiding spot as Liam started undressing, no one paying him any mind, which was oddly reassuring, did he just randomly change all the time? Though his mind lost track of certain thoughts as the male turned around, his pants coming off revealing the boxer briefs he was wearing beneath them. Tristan stared a moment before doing his best to stifle a smile, but it was hard, if ever a piece of underwear described the person wearing them it was those. It was cute, and gave him a few ideas of how to claim a reward for letting the male leave his prison without him getting in trouble. He averted his eyes the rest of the time, needing to keep his mind on the job ahead, not the dark naked flesh that was just half a room away. Right. Work. Saving folks, keeping the peace. Finally Liam was right there with him, helmet in hand, which Tristan quickly took from him and placed over his head, making sure all the connections were made before sealing it on, nodding as the other spoke about the docks. ”Roi’…we’ll hea’ tha’ way…jus’ keep close an’ do as Oi say alroi’?”
Glancing past he grabbed the males hand and tugged him out of HQ before making sure the door was shut and just to be a bit sager added a bit more security, ”Oi’m addin’ a ro’atin’ code changer, make I’ harder fer ‘em to hack ou’…le’s go.” Turning he eyed the rifle and pistol that Liam had with him and checked his own weapons, his pistol, but he’d left his Ghost Rifle in his office sealed up tight. He led the way from the HQ through the abandoned command center of the Nexus, ”So go’a ask…wha’ do yeh know…and do yeh have an questions fer me…?” He kept his eyes peeled through his helmet, which he’d put back on before walking out of the HQ, cobalt eyes scanning the area for movement. It was just too creepy seeing the area, one of the busiest in the ENTIRE Nexus, completely Empty, like a ghost town. ”Also…Oi’m hol’in yeh to tha’…anytin’ I wan’ fer letting yeh out…” He turned his head a little and grinned through his helmet, knowing that the other male couldn’t exactly argue with him, but would love to see him try, for the fun of it.

Oh, goodness. Letting out a frustrated sigh as Tristan put on his helmet, Liam glared through the glass of his helmet. Just like a child. He was more than ready to get out there, and any second he had to wait was a second too long. As they moved out of the HQ, he listened to Tristan's words and let out a laugh. "You know who I am right?" he asked with a shake of his head. "I cannot promise either of those things." Liam was driven by instinct and emotion - rules weren't really his thing.
But he'd try. Maybe. Probably.
Liam nodded at the code changer idea, "It's adorable that you think these precautions will hold." He was always trying - and that's what mattered. He always had other's best interest at heart. But the pathfinding teams were pretty damn headstrong. And creative.
Now out on the Nexus, Liam shifted to high alert. The emptiness of the command center was unsettling, and made his heart sink just a bit. Without pausing, Liam quickly added his knowledge. Which was little to none. "The Council has tried keeping us in the dark on everything. We know that looting has begun in the markets and food is quickly going to become a big problem." Glancing over to Tristan for a moment, "Fill me on everything you know." There were quite a few assumptions Liam had, but working through a crisis on assumptions was never a good idea.
The gloom was beginning to set in, until Tristan brought up a little tidbit Liam hadn't even thought he had heard. A chuckle escaped his lips as he turned a corner, "Oh really? I do believe I was getting out with or without your help." Now what did this handsome APEX man want from Liam? "How about this - if we get out of this alive - you get 3 choices. Then I choose which one I deliver." That made it all the more fun, right?!
PERMALINK // POSTED Apr 5 2018, 06:09 PM
It was hard for Tristan not to roll his eyes a little as Liam asked him if he knew who he was, and he knew it was unfair to ask it of him, but he had to at least try. ”Oi know tha’…bu’ yeh nee’ ter be careful ou’ here..s’a differen’ game now Liam, if’n yeh step ta wron’ way Tann coul’ have yeh exiled ter Kadara an there’s nutin’ Oi coul’ do abou’ it. An’ tha’ wouldn’a do no one good, ta Pathfoin’er needs yeh, an’ ter be hones’ Oi nee’ yeh too on ta Nexus, so don’a ge’ exiled alroi’?” For some reason after they’d exited the Pathfinder HQ his words had softened to a whisper, easily translatable through the com’s of their helmets which he quickly patched up with the help of SAM. He didn’t want to take Liam anywhere dangerous, but he knew that the male would want to go where there was the most danger, so that he could help the most people. Which currently was towards the market area, people breaking into shops, breaking quarantine, it was a giant mess and more than that old grudges were being handled, it wasn’t’ an ideal situation.
Hearing Liam talk about how he was adorable for his line of thinking had Tristan rolling his eyes behind his visor, if there was anyone who could more than likely keep Liam in line at the moment, it was Tristan himself and his wily ways. ”S’a dorable tha’ ye’ tink yeh gonna have a way roun’ me head, tha’s wha’s adorable roi’ now if’n yeh ask me.” His voice filtered through their com’s as they kept moving through the pretty much abandoned heart of the Nexus. Normally one could hear Addison up top yelling at people, or see someone or another being dragged to the prison cells where Kandros would speak to them. But for now the entire area was empty, maybe one or two guard were about but none of them questioned Tristan as he walked by with Liam. Being second in command had its perks, especially when it came choosing the people he wanted to be there beside him in a fight. As they walked he listened as Liam filled him on what the Pathfinder knew, which compared to what Tristan had been given wasn’t a lot, though that they’d figured out looting was happening was pretty interesting.
At the males behest he quickly started talking, ”Yer roi’ abou’ how tin’s are goin’ down, ta Council is tryin’ ter keep everyone in ta dark so tha’ no one panics which in hindsight wasn’a smart oidea of ‘em as everyone’s doin’ jus’ tha’. Anyway wha’ we know so far is tha’ somehow our wa’er supply’s been tampered with, ta only folks who ken drink I’ an no’ get sick are humans which isn’a makin’ us look good. Alien’s are gettin’ sick an’ dyin’, so any alien wh’s been infected by ta wa’er supply is bein’ taken ter med bay and pu’ back inter cryo, though tha’s just a shor’ term fix…we don’a have a cure cause well alo’ of our smar’est are sick. Roi’ now we’re jus’ tryn’a make sure ta Nexus doesn’a go down from all ta riotin’…” Sighing a little bit Tristan felt even more anxious after admitting to Liam what was happening, as much as he was part of the council, Kandros was still keeping him pretty much in the dark about stuff, whether to protect him or make sure that he did his job without worrying about things too much, he didn’t have a clue.
They were finally nearing the exit that would take them towards the shuttle bay, which was where they needed to go in order to get to the market area. He could hear the chuckle through his helmet from the other male as he described himself getting out with or without Tristan’s help, and then adding another layer on top of their already made deal, three choices and Liam would pick which one he wanted to give in on. Smirking through his helmet Tristan nodded as he chuckled himself, ”Oi don’a see how yeh were gonna ge’ ou’, maybe yeh coul’ enloi’en me as ter yeh plan…and tree tin’s huh…Oi definitely have tree tin’s Oi wouldn’a moin’ askin’ of yeh..yeh wan’ im now or later so tha’ yeh have toim ter tink abou’ backin’ ou’?” It was kind of fun teasing the other male, especially given the fact they were in such a tense situation, but honestly how else were they meant to stay sane if they didn’t actually talk and flirt and make the best of a situation that they had no control over, it was kind of ridiculous sometimes what people expected of the security guards around them at times.
PERMALINK // POSTED May 3 2018, 01:50 AM
A dramatic sigh was let out as Tristan spoke, and then a quiet chuckle. Exiled? Tann could always try! "I'm always kind of careful," he stated with a shrug of his shoulders, "I'd just sneak aboard the Tempest. No worries." Forever the optimist! Despite Tristan's change to a whisper, Liam continued in his normal volume. It was hard for him to contain his excitement despite the errie quiet around them.
A strange mix of emotions swirled within him. There was that familiar thrill he so enjoyed, but also a nagging, uneasy feeling despite being in familiar company. This was a crisis - what he trained for - but it was in completely new terrain. A galaxy full of unknowns. Luckily he wasn't relying on his information this time, but a mix of Tristan's as well. It gave him a better scope of the situation so he could make the best judgement calls whenever needed.
"Psh," was the only audible sound Liam made through the comms. Liam already stated what was adorable and that was that. End of story, Tristan. But you know what wasn't adorable? These ghost town that was the Nexus. As they continued to move throughout the Nexus, Liam continued to scan the area, making mental notes of any strange sights he came across.
As soon as Tristan began with his information, Liam's focused intently on his words. The water supply? Damn. That would hit a lot of people in a short amount of time. Clever and awful. Even more interesting - it wasn't targeting humans. All the information weighed heavily on Liam as Tristan finished. "Hmm..." The sound emitted through the comms as he continued to filter through it all. At least there was a short term fix to help those infected. It had to be enough time to find a cure.
It gave them something to work with. All hope wasn't lost - and that meant there was an entire group unaffected on the Nexus who could actually do something. Even if they were possibly behind it.
Slowly Liam was sinking into the hole of information when Tristan brought him back into reality and made him smile. Shaking his head, Liam chuckled. "That's the best part, it's a secret," he stated, with a simple nudge "Tell me now. The more I can focus on, the better. I'm a fantastic multi-tasker." A wink was hidden by his visor as he took a step towards the exit. "I never back out. So hit me with your best shot." Yes, it was an old song reference, and no - he wasn't not ashamed.
PERMALINK // POSTED May 6 2018, 07:20 PM
As serious as he was trying to be it was hard to maintain any kind of decorum with Liam being so confident, so sure of himself and how the world affected him and he it. He could hear it in his voice as he spoke, the way he was just so confident and optimistic about everything he had planned, or was planning to do. Rolling his eyes behind his mask Tristan just chuckled, against his will, ”Yeh may always be careful, bu’ tha’ doesn’a mean tha’ Tann won’ have yer ass fer no’ doin’ wha’ he says when he says. He kenna do anytin’ ter Ryder, bu’ he can sure as hell do sometin’ ter you, yer no’ protected by tah people, yer a member of ta team, and as much hell as Ryder may throw aroun’ ter ge’ Tann ter leave yeh alone a’ some poin’ Tann will win, cause he’s a sneaky bas’ard.” It was quite easy to tell from the menace in his voice just how much the man hated Tann, if given the opportunity he had enough paperwork now about enough exiles where he could possibly try and do something about it, but he wasn’t sure.
Thankfully with what information he was able to share, it filled the otherwise silent travel as they made their way towards the shuttle area. Once there, they’d get to head straight towards the marketplace and handle more of the riots that were breaking out. His helmet turned as he heard the sound the male made, as worrisome as this event was, Tristan was a bit glad to have Liam with him. Out of everyone on the station currently he knew between himself and the Pathfinder team member they’d be able to at least get some things done. With his information shared he waited silently for Liam to say something, but instead all he had was a thoughtful hum through the coms as they kept moving forward. It wasn’t what he expected but he knew that Liam was more than likely processing or deciding what to do with the information he’d been given. After all, looking into his files had given him enough to know this is what the male had done back in the Milky Way, this exact thing. So as they moved forward he wondered what sort of ideas he might come up with, Tristan was a soldier, and he didn’t need to be one in this moment.
The conversation rounded out with his plans for plotting against the other male, and it was more than a bit amusing as he heard Liam chuckling through the coms. Tristan tilted his head to the side as he listened to the male, snorting just a little as he was nudged, normally he wouldn’t have given Liam anything, just make him think about what it might be but given the circumstances he might as well. ”Tree tin’s tha’ yeh ken choose from, firs’ one bein’ you an’ me a’ yer place, barely dressed havin’ drin’s all noi’ long. Secon’ choice bein’ you at moi’ place wi’ hardly any clothes drinkin’ all noi’ long…tird option bein’ we grab a shu’le grab some drinks an’ floi’ ou’…park somewhere in space, strip tah our pant’s and have a ball wi’ some drinks, wha’ yeh make o’tha’?” Though almost a second later he realized he’d been hit with a song reference and almost missed it, snorting and chuckling he shook his head as he nudged the other male with his shoulder. He couldn’t believe it, Liam was just one of those folks who was full of surprises that he could never ever see coming.
”Olroi’ don’a kee’ tossin’ those a’ me, me musi’ only goes so far back an’ if’n oim’ bein hones’ I much preferred har’er stuff, wha’ tha’ yeh coul’ feel in yer bloo’.” He smirked as he stepped ahead of the male as they arrived at the staircase that led to the shuttle. Shaking his head he quickly walked up, omni-tool already out as he input the code he’d been given in order to use it. ”Here’s hopin’ tha’ yeh knew ta’ code in or’er ter use ta shu’le system ter escape Liam…if’n yeh didn’ then tere’s no tellin’ how lon’ yeh moi’ have been here till someone came alon’ usin’ ta shu’les temselves.” Grinning he stepped right inside as the door opened up and walked right over to the large menu to choose their destination, looking over his shoulder at the other male with a grin.

Although Tristan made some good points, Liam's confidence didn't waver. He shrugged once more, his hands up in the air. "Tann can always try, but I don't give up easily. He'd have one hell of a time trying to banish me." Ryder wouldn't even bat an eye of a 'banished' Liam lived aboard the Tempest. Either way, at least the two had even more shared interest! Or common frustration? Tann sure was short sighted and unfit to lead. Did it mean he was a bad person? Possibly not. But damn did he suck at leading.
Could this have been avoided if someone else was in charge? It's always a possibility. Tann was so quick to keep others in the dark. Liam had seen it so many times... During times of great diress, the important officials felt it was best to keep things 'under wraps'. Sometimes it was to keep it so those in charge seemed as if they were in control while others thought it would keep others at bay. It did just the opposite. With or without knowledge, citizens can tell when something is awray. Word spreads fast - especially on something as small as the Nexus. In a day, an entire planet could have a rumor spread. It probably took less than a few hours for panic to spread aboard this very ship.
Without knowing what the hell was going on, the panci would only get worse and the masses would begin to lose their damn minds. They had no idea what was going on - how serious it was and what they should do. They way Tann handled this could've caused so many aliens their lives. Just tell the pathfinding team what was going on. They could've done something sooner...
Sigh. Sadly, Liam couldn't change the past. Only act in the here and now. Luckily, he wasn't alone, and he was with someone who had even more clout than he did. It was possible they could at least stop the looting and help any sick get the help they needed.
As quickly as Liam's mind jumped to solutions and the problems at hand, it was back to Tristan and his three options.
What Liam said was completely true - the more info flowing through his mind, the better. And it gave him that end game. Something to look forward to, no matter what horrors they were going to see. I mean, how could he think about anything other than Tristan barely dressed? All those tattoos. Okay, maybe he should've waited...
A grin formed on Liam's lips as he chuckled. All three options sounded more than glorious, although he was already fancing the third. Now, when Tristan addressed the song reference, Liam paused. Luckily they were at the base of the stairs, so it didn't look completely out of character. Well all be damned! Very few caught his references on the fly. He shook his head, regained his compsure, and followed the male up the stairs. "No promises. I'm going to have to expose you to some oldies but goodies. You like the head banging shit? I can approve! Maybe we'll listen to some on that shuttle date." Oops. Did he already drop a hint of his choice?
When Tristan spoke of the code, Liam put a hand on his hip for a second. "I'm quite skilled in a wide array of things. You'd be surprised," he admitted, with another chuckle. "You learn some things while working in law enforcement. Some from the good guys, some from the bad." And he was just going to leave it at that....
After he'd finished schooling Tristan with his dark and scary past, Liam followed him onto the shuttle. "Quickly sir, I have places to be," he joked with a wave of his hand. Then he leaned against the wall of the shuttle, his mind ready for whatever was ahead. This is what he trained for. You could never be 100% prepared, but you always had to be ready for the unexpected.
